Does anyone think as I do that someday our railroad may be tunneled for the amount of distance it travels through the city? I saw in Preservation Magazine an article about a New England town that did this for just a few blocks because it had great historic provenance like ours and the track was cutting the in-town portion neatly in two. So, there is precedent. Think of the change in character and the easier life in so many directions—the land it would open up. The value of all that. And no more thought of accidents and injuries.
